I've always loved flowers. As a child, they were everywhere. My parents loved roses and their cottage garden was incredible.
Years on, we're very lucky to have a beautiful old apple tree right in the middle of our garden. In April and May it's covered in blossom and then in June the softest pink rose that grows up it comes into bloom.
Behind our garden there is a lovely field where two huge big oak trees grow, they are so old, apparently one of them is the oldest in the county. In season, buttercups are abundant here, I am constantly picking them for the kitchen table.
Before I learnt to crochet I used to spend hours in the garden, but since I got "hooked" it's become a bit more "wild" which is ok, although... mother nature... you can keep the stinging nettles!!!
Flowers inspire me more than anything...
After I had my first daughter, I trained as a florist. It was perfect, I got to play about with flowers all day, but as one child became two it took a bit of a back seat. I still do weddings and parties occassionally, which is perfect.
